Baloghshof Persians
Joachim Balogh was raised in the cat fancy in Germany, attending cat shows with his mother, Monika, since early childhood.
For 30 years, mother and son raised and showed Persians under the "Baloghshof" cattery name.
The first Baloghshof kittens were born in 1978 and their last litter was born in 2009.
From the beginning, Joseph had a special interest in linechasing. He was always asking people for copies of pedigrees and collecting information from show catalogues etc.
Although Joachim has been retired from breeding and showing cats for many years, he admits he still sometimes digs into his set of CFA Yearbooks, GCCF stud books or copies of the German cat magazine, "Die Edelkatze", from the 60s and 70s to trace down interesting pedigrees.
The Baloghshof database mainly consists of Persian pedigrees in the colours Joseph and Monika bred over the years — Solids, Smokes, Cameos, Tabbies and Bicolours. Joseph's favorite favourite cat of all time is, GC, PR, DW Baloghshof Antarctica, pictured above.
Joseph's refers to himself as "snow blind" — always loving white Persians the most. He has now transferred his white addiction to his current interest — Maltese dogs.
